Account Deletion Instructions

We understand that you may want to delete your Bookoob account. This page provides step-by-step instructions on how to permanently delete your account and all associated data.

⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including your reading history, saved books, and subscription information, will be permanently deleted.

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open the Bookoob mobile app on your device
  2. Go to Settings or Profile
  3. Scroll down to find Account Settings
  4. Tap on Delete Account
  5. Read the warning message carefully
  6. Confirm your decision by tapping Delete My Account
  7. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted

Method 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email:

  1. Send an email to info@bookoob.net
  2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include the following information in your email:
    • Your registered email address
    • Your phone number (if applicable)
    • Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account
  4. We will process your request within 7 business days
  5. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, and profile details
  • Reading History: All books you've read, listened to, or saved
  • Preferences: Your personalized settings and recommendations
  • Subscription Data: Your subscription status and payment history
  • User Content: Any reviews, ratings, or comments you've posted

Before You Delete

Important: Please consider the following before deleting your account:

  • Active Subscription: Cancel your subscription before deleting your account to avoid future charges. Visit your device's subscription settings (iOS Settings → Subscriptions or Google Play → Subscriptions).
  • Data Backup: We cannot recover your data after deletion. Make sure to save any important information.
  • Alternative Options: If you're experiencing issues, consider contacting our support team first. We may be able to help resolve your concerns without deleting your account.

Canceling Your Subscription

If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it separately:

For iOS Users:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find and tap Bookoob
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

For Android Users:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon at the top right
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
  4. Find and tap Bookoob
  5. Tap Cancel subscription
